Resource Spotlight: Teepa Snow
At Arthur’s Residential Care we care for the whole person and we strive to meet each individual’s social, emotional and spiritual needs. This is especially important in dementia care, and far more effective than just treating the symptoms and challenging behaviors of the disease process.
We are always overjoyed to find people in the memory care community who share this conviction to care for the whole person. Teepa Snow, occupational therapist and expert in dementia care, has been not only a wonderful resource for Arthur’s, but also a heartwarming and memorable supporter the caregivers in our lives.
Watch this short video where Teepa explains what a person with dementia experiences as their vision deteriorates. Her goal is simply to equip the caregiver to better understand their loved one and how to respond appropriately to certain behaviors. From the educational videos such as “What is Dementia?” to the very practical topics of eating & drinking, Teepa finds a way to help the caregiver communicate more favorably and effectively with their loved one.
Along with her training and consulting services, Teepa Snow also offers many free resources available right on her website, including a free caregiver website and newsletter.
